South Sudan

I am in South Sudan for one month and a half. South Sudan is a place that is easy to love and hate, sometimes both at the same time, but I guess this just makes the emotions much more stronger.Being here is really a challenge and I am saying this without counting in my personal problems. It might be one of the most hostile environment as far a climate and the attitude of locals is concerned. The two decade long war destroyed a lot, but the worse is that it changed the mentality of the population. And this is something that cannot be changed back. At least not in years, but rather in generations.

Probably I will stay in South Sudan for half a year, maybe more and I will try to update this blog as often as I can. I will not write what kind of work I am doing and where I am based.

After arriving to S. Sudan I started an “old-fashioned” diary, meaning with paper and pen. However each time I re-read what I wrote it sounded suprisingly stupid. Hope the same won’t happen with this blog:)
